It was just announced that rapper Kid Cudi has joined the cast of Silent Night, an action thriller being directed by John Woo. This will be Woo’s first English-language film in over a decade. The movie is about a group of mercenaries who are tasked with protecting a presidential candidate during the Christmas holiday. Kid Cudi will play the role of “the tech guy” in the film. It is set to begin filming in the spring.
“I am delighted to welcome John Woo to the cast of Silent Night. John’s long track record of global hit films has made him one of the most respected and celebrated filmmakers in the world, and we look forward to working with him on this project,” said producers Don Carmody (The Hurt Locker) and Kim Jee-woon (A Bittersweet Life) in a statement.
This series will be released on 8 April 2022. Also, the series has cast Kid Cudi in the leading role. Woo was last seen helming the 2007 Hong Kong-Chinese production Red Cliff, which took the world’s second-largest film market by storm and also set box office records in Japan and Korea.
He is best known for his iconic Hong Kong-based action films, including The Killer, A Better Tomorrow, and Hard Boiled. Woo has directed several U.S.-set projects including Face/Off and Broken Arrow with John Travolta and Christian Slater respectively, but both films were underwhelmed at the domestic box office. However, Face/Off did earn $200 million worldwide when it was released in 1997.
Set in the post-September 11, 2001 age of heightened security and tension between the US and international terrorism, a US Presidential candidate, his family, and his secretary are kidnapped by a group of 15 mercenaries, who then hide out in an isolated mountain mansion.
The story was inspired by a real-life incident that occurred on Christmas Day 1985 during the rescue of hijacked TWA 707 Flight 847 at Entebbe airport in Uganda. The film will be produced by Don Carmody and Kim Jee-woon of Korea’s Next Entertainment World. The pair previously worked together on such films as A Bittersweet Life.
The series is inspired by a true story. I was reminded of it when I read the book “The Perfect Host” by Elizabeth Berg. It’s a fictional tale about kidnapping, but it also deals with human trafficking, border control and so on. Those issues are very close to my heart.
The story really got me thinking about how we let people into our country and how we don’t pay attention to anything but money – and how everyone should take their own families more seriously.
The books have been successful because I write about the world we live in, and we all know how the world appears to be today. People want to learn more about each other’s cultures, not just people from other countries but also people from different states or areas in their own country.
The title comes from a line in the song Silent Night by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman. It’s a beautiful song and poem, and I calmed down every time I listened to it or read it. Then I came up with the character Sophie, who was innocent and pure like that song, so I thought her name would be great for that poem.
I’ve got the outlines for two more novels already written, so I’m just waiting for the time to be right. There are many people out there who would like to read more about Sophie, as she is a very compelling character.
I’m writing a novel about a young couple in London who have everything they could wish for – a wonderful home with three children, a loving husband and wife, a big garden, and so on, but every day they sense that something is not right in that house.
I’m currently writing a novel inspired by the Silent Night Series, and that’s required a lot of research. I’m always looking at news stories, documentaries, magazines etc. to find out more about things that are important to me.
When I have an idea for a story, I use my imagination to develop it before writing it down. Therefore if there’s an actual event, or if you know of someone who has been through something similar I would love to hear from you so that I can include your story in my novel.
I read a lot of different authors, but my favorite is Elizabeth Berg. She writes about women who are sometimes very ordinary, but they are always compelling characters. Some of her books make you cry, some make you laugh, and others make you angry at times. That’s what I love about her books.
