What inspired the director to write the Solar Opposites series?

The series is inspired by the negative feedback the author received when he showed his colleagues and friends a prototype of a children’s book he was working on. The story was about a little girl who, during Halloween, wears masks but is teased by her peers. The negativity he experienced led to him wanting to make a book that would be positive and meaningful for kids.

The favorite character of the director is Kitty Cat because she is an optimistic character and also a little clumsy. The director says that the series has an anti-bullying theme. She thinks that kids nowadays are more sensitive than in the old times, so she wants to write books that would give children tools to help them deal with bullying.  The director also said that she hopes that kids will be able to feel better in their skin because her book won’t tell them how they should be but encourage them to show themselves in their way.
