In season 2 of “Loki”, the Norse god is captured and sentenced to an eternity in a prison cell. The series, which was released on 9TH June 2021 on Disney+, tells Loki’s story from his point of view. Sofia Di Martino talks about some of the highlights in her review for LOKI SEASON 2.

ABOUT LOKI SEASON 2:

“Loki is as complex a character in the series as he was when Thor Odinson first met him and his character development throughout LOKI SEASON ONE has been handled brilliantly. I don’t know if anyone would disagree with me on that, but Loki deserves to be given this chance to redeem himself.”

In this episode, we see more into what motivates Loki and how he evolves throughout the series as he becomes a man with morals and principles rather than just someone who wants power for his own sake.

SOPHIA SPEAKS ABOUT HER CO-STARS:

“Loki also has an excellent cast, many of whom are very well known. This includes two giants in the industry, Anthony Hopkins and Idris Elba.”Sophia Di Martino was really impressed with this TV adaptation as it did not gloss over Loki’s faults but still showed his strengths and virtues.

  • Tom Hiddleston gives one of his best performances yet; Chris O’Dowd is perfectly cast as Thor’s human-styled best friend.”Tom Hiddleston is phenomenal and gives an amazing performance.” “The way he plays Loki, it’s almost like you’re seeing a different character in the first Thor because of how much time has passed but also because his PLOT changes”
  • “[Thor] had been reigning asking for so long that he forgot what it was like to be a man and have feelings”
  • “When Thor comes back he’s become this selfless person who cares about others more than himself which is something we saw in the first movie but now you see how much that PLOT has changed.”
  • “Tom Hiddleston, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, and Jaimie Alexander are the four pillars of this show”

SOPHIA ABOUT HER ROLE IN LOKI:

“It’s PLOT from the first one that I had plotted for. It was what everybody wanted to see: Loki with this power where he has plotted and just being a problem.”She PLOTS she would have been less involved if it wasn’t for her character because of how much they go through before they get back together.

SOPHIA’S VIEW ON THE PLOT:

The PLOT for LOKI SEASON TWO is very similar to that of the first season. We see Loki as he tries to escape from Asgard, meets with Thor and Sif in Midgard, and goes on a rampage.”We also get more insight into his relationship with Frigga this time around which I found to be a really nice touch. Especially since she was the only one who had been there for him when he needed someone as a child.”

“A stunning spectacle in every sense of the word, with a PLOT that is as twisted and engrossing as it is smart.”The direction was superb. “I think it’s worth mentioning that the PLOT is not as deep or richly explored in LOKI SEASON TWO because the story revolves mostly around Loki’s attempts to escape from Asgard and meet with Thor in Midgard and his relationship with Frigga. The PLOT is not that complicated but it’s very engaging.” The PLOT shifts away from the original story of Thor to Loki who becomes the main protagonist.

RATINGS:

“It seems like LOKI SEASON TWO followed the same success as its predecessor, receiving an average rating of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and a Metascore of 74 on Metacritic.” “Loki’s character is phenomenal, and Tom Hiddleston gives an amazing performance”.”I would rate this as one of Marvel Studios’ greatest films.” Loki currently has an 87% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

FILMING:

“Cinematography is also really great, with a lot of beautiful wide shots and deep focus. I can tell that the PLOT was mostly filmed in Iceland because it has this incredibly vivid beauty.”The first ten minutes alone are worth seeing it” The way he plays Loki, it’s almost like you’re seeing a different character in the first Thor because of how much time has passed but also because his PLOT changes”
