RELEASE DATE:

The STAR WAR VISION is set for release on September 22nd, 2021.

PRODUCTION:

It is being filmed at Pinewood Studios, in the United Kingdom. Jurassic Park and War Horse were shot there as well. The film was shot in Abu Dhabi, with production beginning on November 18th, 2014. There was a break for Christmas/New Year’s Eve time before continuing production on January 12th, 2015.

THE PLOT:

Set around 30 years after the events of Return Of The Jedi. Luke Skywalker has vanished, and so a new generation of heroes will rise as more is revealed about Rey’s background. The plot will pick up thirty-something years after the events of Return of the Jedi in a galaxy far away.

In the story, Skywalker (Mark Hamill) is now a lot older and has lost his past glory. He will be joined by Rey (Daisy Ridley), who he believes to be Luke’s daughter, but she isn’t sure yet if this is true or not. They set out on an epic adventure together in search of the first Jedi temple.

The story will also follow young Rey, who is now on her new planet and meets Finn (John Boyega), a renegade stormtrooper for The First Order. They both join up in hopes of stopping Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), an evil dark side warrior who betrayed his father Han Solo (Harrison Ford), and now is trying to kill his nephew, the future Jedi. Both Rey and Finn will have an epic battle with Kylo Ren after Rey learns she has a power that can control minds which could help her in this fight against evil.

THE STARRING CAST:

  • Daisy Ridley plays Rey with Mark Hamill reprising his role as Luke Skywalker.
  • John Boyega also stars as Finn, a stormtrooper who defects to join the rebels. John Boyega is in the Japanese film “Attack on Titan” and will be playing Finn, a stormtrooper who defects to join the rebels and
  • Oscar Isaac plays Poe Dameron, an X-Wing pilot. Oscar Isaac’s family is from Guatemala, and he speaks fluent Spanish, which I think will be helpful when filming his character.
  • Sofia Vergara was considered for the role of Maz Kanata, but then Daisy Ridley accepted.
  • Lupita Nyong’o had been in talks to play a new character before being cast as Maz Kanata.
