However, we do know that the premiere is scheduled to air on October 2nd on ABC and will consist of 10 episodes. That’s right — this is the final season! Where AMC has The Walking Dead, Netflix has Orange Is the New Black, and Hulu has The Handmaid’s Tale, ABC has Station 19. Will there be a Station 20? Or will fans have to find another show to watch? Who knows.
The show was created by Stacy McKee, who is still the current showrunner for this season. She’s also worked on Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice. The creator of Station 19, Stacy McKee started her career as a writer on the medical drama Grey’s Anatomy back. Since then, she wrote or co-wrote fourteen episodes of the series and joined its crew as a supervising producer. She held that position for three years and then became an executive producer for the long-running series. Her first television project outside Grey’s Anatomy was the medical drama Private Practice which debuted on ABC.
Dominant streaming services like Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon have been pumping out originals like crazy over the last three years. While some of the most popular shows on Netflix (like Breaking Bad, Orange Is the New Black, and House of Cards) are available on both Hulu and Amazon Prime Video, many are still locked down to one service or the other.
So how do you watch ABC shows like Station 19 when you don’t have access to ABC’s own content library? The answer is simple: sign up for a free trial with one of Amazon Prime’s competitors. Amazon Prime limits its new customers to just one month free before they’re required to subscribe at $99/year.
