Steven Moffat is a Scottish film and television producer, screenwriter, and former television presenter. He is best known as the creator and executive producer of the hit series Coupling, Jekyll, Press Gang, Doctor Who, and Sherlock. He is also the co-creator of the BBC series Life on Mars and its sequel Ashes to Ashe’s and Chalk. What is “Inside Men” about?
At the beginning of each episode, the TV audience will see a television news report in which someone who has recently been released from prison names the names and locations of his fellow prisoners. Someone inside will know this information and must try to bring other prisoners in on the plan. The “inside man” will then try to get all of his fellow inmates to trust him. If he can do this, he is free and can get himself out of jail.
The series begins with Janice Fife who is a math teacher who saved Beth Davenport, who is the journalist. Beth is thrilled, but Janice is not so sure. With the two new friends facing a world of uncertainty, Beth becomes fast friends with Janice. Janice is about to tutor Ben, the Harry Watling son. To begin class, Ben needs a USB drive to share some subject modules. When Janice enters the house, she finds a flash drive. The flash drive is where the Reverend has stashed it in a secret location. She plugs the phone in to charge it when she’s stopped by the Reverend. She sees what’s on it before he can stop her and is shocked by what she sees
Background of the series
“Inside Men” is produced by BBC in association with Red Productions and was commissioned to air on BBC One. Filming began on April 5, 2021, and it premiered on Netflix on 26 September 2022. The series was also broadcast in the US under the title “Inside Men”.
What do we expect from the second season?
In January 2022, David Tennant, the controller of BBC One, said that a second season was possible. He said: “This is a series that keeps you gripped right up to the last minute and it’s a series that plays with characters and plotlines in clever and original ways. It’s only right that we do the same with writers and cast.” The first series of Inside Men had four episodes which started airing on BBC One in September 2022. The final episode was watched by 7.4 million viewers on BBC One and was the highest-rated series debut of the year according to overnight figures from BARB.
