The Strange New Worlds series of Star Trek novels is a 12-book crossover continuation of the original series which offers stories relative to its era. These stories are published by Pocket Books, the same company that publishes the latest Star Trek novel line. The Strange New Worlds series was published and told a variety of stories that ranged from being set on Earth or new planets we had never seen before to featuring characters who may have died at some point during the original show, but then reappeared for future adventures. Archaeologist, former Talosian captive, and one-time companion of Captain Christopher Pike (Jeffrey Hunter), Vina is brought out of suspended animation by the crew of the Starship “Exeter” during “The Time Trap”, a novel by Vina’s creator Diane Duane.

This series will be released on 5 May 2022. Also, the series has some interesting names, i.e., Track A and Track B. The cancellation led to several campaigns by fans of the show, affectionately known as “Entertainers”, to revive the show through various online websites and publications with varying degrees of success. These “Save Enterprise” campaigns were successful enough that series creator/executive producer Rick Berman and executive producer Brannon Braga announced that they would produce four two-hour “episodes” which they claim will resolve the cliffhanger ending of season four, which ended with a teaser for the Xindi attack on Earth.

The plot is focused on a deep undercover investigation in the region of Marzan IV. When the team leader Ensign Ro (Michelle Forbes) is compromised, the remaining team members must face new enemies and old friends alike, who are searching for the “Ship of the Dead”, a legendary vessel created after World War II. The ship was built to meet an enemy more powerful than any that humanity has ever faced and was lost, and presumed destroyed.
