The Stranger Things series is an American science fiction horror television series created, written, directed, and co-executive produced by the Duffer brothers. The show is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana which is drawn from many different influences including Stephen King’s novels It and The Shining. The series is an homage to other well-known horror films, particularly the works of Steven Spielberg, John Carpenter, and Stephen King.

Now it sounds like we want to see more crossover action between the show and other properties in the future. Speaking with the Hollywood Reporter, executive producer, and director Shawn Levy teased that Stranger Things could be looking to up its game with even bigger crossovers in the future. The things that are on the table include The X-Men and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Duffer brothers also mentioned that a good portion of the writing team for Season 2 are also hardcore Marvel fans. They think it’s a bit of a perfect match since the show has so many easter eggs and nods to so many ‘80s classics, with some great spy thrillers too.

The series First set was released on 27 May 2022. Also, the series has been renewed for the Season 3 release date. Stranger Things may have been created by Stephen King, but it’s certainly not a horror story.  The curious case of what is real and what is fiction will continue in the third season which is set to premiere in 2019. Netflix announced that more episodes are on the way on Thursday morning. We’ll probably find out when exactly it drops at some point around then, but that’s nothing new for the streaming service.
