THE Plot:
The Handmaid’s Tale season takes place in Gilead (a dystopian society) where women are not allowed to read or have money but are forced to bear children for powerful men. Season one concerns Offred (Elisabeth Moss) who is living in a dystopia called Gilead. The totalitarian society is ruled by the oppressive and patriarchal regime of “The Sons Of Jacob” (known as “Sons”). The first season of the show follows Offred, a Handmaid in Gilead who is forced to bear children for powerful men.
Season two follows Offred’s pregnancy and her ongoing fight to free herself from slavery, along with numerous fellow Handmaids: Janine (Madeline Brewer), Ofglen (Alexis Bledel), and Emily (Kelly Jenrette). Season two and three take place between flashbacks showing how the world got from where it was before (freer) to what it is now. In season four, Offred is pregnant and struggles with the possibility of escaping to Mexico. The fifth and final season will take place in the future after Gilead has fallen.

Elisabeth Moss stars as Offred in the Emmy Award-winning Hulu series. TIMELINE:
The Handmaid’s Tale season five release date is in 2022. Filming was delayed in August 2018 due to the state of emergency in Florida, but it will resume on October 15th of this year and wrap up by December 2021. Production for all episodes started back up again at once after a break.
EXPECTATIONS:
We don’t know much about this final installment of the show, but we do expect it to follow through on the Plot that was hinted at in its cliffhanger finale last year. We also anticipate continued high-quality acting and Plot from all the main actors. Season four of Handmaid’s Tale was a huge success, and the Plot in this final season will hopefully be just as intriguing. It can’t come soon enough.
