Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum are one of Hollywood’s most loved couples. The two have just finished filming The Lost City, a movie about an archaeologist couple who find a lost city in the jungle.  The film is set to be released in April 2022 and is already generating a lot of buzzes. In preparation for the movie, the two actors went on an archaeological dig in South America to find artifacts for their characters. They spent two weeks in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California, Mexico, and discovered hundreds of artifacts.

After removing the stones from the ground, they were surprised to find a hidden chamber with an incredible amount of ancient art. They were so impressed that they hired an expert to examine the area for clues. He spent three months scanning the area with his drone over a vast area and discovered a trove of artifacts.

What inspired you to write The Lost City Series?

The series is inspired by the real archaeological dig the Hollywood couple did. They wanted to mention back in Hollywood that they have experience of excavating and found this a great way of describing the movie.  This series is based on an excavation in South America where a treasure/archaeological dig team found an ancient temple hidden under a mountain surrounded by jungle and was guarded by stone guardians. The team also discovered that these treasures were stolen from their owner’s thousands of years ago by an unknown group, but why they stole them is still to be revealed in the series.

How much research did you do for the series, and how long did it take you to write?

The Hollywood couple did a lot of research for the series, but they spent only two weeks uncovering this hidden chamber. They did a lot of research on writing the script and wrote it in just 12 days. The Lost City is the first book in the series and there are more stories to come after this. In The Lost City Series we will find out where these treasures came from and it’s a secret that no one knows about.

Are there any specific parts of the series that are your favorite, or that you’re most proud of?

The Lost City Series is my favorite because it’s from a real story and these guys did an amazing job. They also found artifacts that are worth millions of dollars so it’s great to be a part of that journey. Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum were inspired after doing an archaeological dig in South America where they found a hidden temple under a jungle-covered by mountains. These explorers also discovered that this temple was guarded by stone guardians and after finding out the clues they began looking for characters to fit the story.

Do you have any plans to write a sequel (or more sequels) to the series?

There is a lot of interest in the 2nd book in The Lost City Series and there are more stories coming up after this. I have already published the second part of The Lost City Series which will come out in April 2022.

What was your personal goal with this series, and how well do you feel you achieved it?

I always wanted to write something different and got inspired by my wife who is a writer herself. She encouraged me to write about what I could relate to which was archaeology, history, and a little bit of horror. It’s great that these guys used their real-life experiences for the story and it’s great that they found an ancient Incan temple that researchers had been looking for for so long.
