It’s a perfect fit for Tatum, who has often played on dark themes in his movies, from the abuse he endured as a child in Deliver Us From Evil to the otherworldly weirdness of Jupiter Ascending. What inspired the author to write about a lost city in the jungle?

This series is inspired by the true story of a lost city in the Amazon. Please check out the article below if you have not heard of this.

I have read both stories before, and I loved them to bits. I thought it would be great to incorporate them into one story and make it more interesting by adding my twists. I have mentioned some things in the book that are not included in the movie but added my twists to make it more interesting.

How much research did the author do to create such an intricate world?

I have read almost the entire book before creating the tale. I have also made up some of my characters and locations in both stories.

I have taken part in the story from both books, adding my twist to it. I have incorporated some ideas from them, but I have completely changed a lot of things to make it more interesting for our readers. My writing style is different because I am trying to add as many twists as possible to keep readers interested.

What themes does the book explore, and why are they important?

I believe that bravery and courage are the themes in this series. Bravery and courage are not something you can teach someone to do. You cannot make someone a ‘warrior’ if they do not wish to become one. I have repeatedly said this throughout my writing, and I feel it is true, especially for Tatum’s character in The Lost City.

I think bravery and courage are the themes that we need generations after generations to try to teach our citizens because they do not exist in themselves; they only exist because of their lack of fear and their ability to fight when they need no other reason than the fact that they want justice or the right thing to happen (like Tatum).

Did the author have any challenges writing a middle-grade novel, and if so, what were they?

I am new to writing for the younger generation, and I struggled with my book for a while now. I have never written for the younger generation before, and it has become a challenging task for me. However, I finished this series with lots of encouragement from my readers.

What advice can you give writers who are just beginning their careers?

I want to say that do not give up because one day, you will find something that will surprise you. Writing is not an easy task, and there are more people out there who enjoy reading than those who actually write it but if you want to be successful in your career as a writer, then make sure that you love what you are doing.
