The Matrix 4: Cast, Plot, Production Review, Release Date and More!

The Matrix 4 is one of the most anticipated sequels in cinematic history. Fans have been waiting for decades to find out what happens next, and we finally know that it will be released in May 2022! The movie stars Keanu Reeves as Neo alongside Carrie-Anne Moss, reprising her role as Trinity. These two are joined by new cast members such as Alice Eve and Adria Arjona. There’s also a lot more to look forward to, like the return of Laurence Fishburne, Hugo Weaving, and Monica Bellucci.

RELEASE DATE:

The film is set to be released on the 30th of MAY 2022 with a budget of $120 million and will also be shot simultaneously in IMAX for an immersive viewing experience.

FILMING:

Filming began on the 22nd of January 2019 and is expected to run until late December. This will be a long shoot with Wachowski reprising her role as director after taking time off from directing following Jupiter Ascending, which was released in 2015.

THE STARRING CAST:

The Matrix Reloaded. The film stars the likes of Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne, who are reprising their roles from previous films, as well as some fresh faces such as Alice Eve and Adria Arjona, who will be joining the franchise for this installment!

Newcomers include Arjona as Dani Ramos, Eve’s role is currently unknown, but she will be playing an integral part of this film. The cast also includes veteran actor David Thewlis who has been part of the Harry Potter franchise and is known for his work in indie films such as Mike Leigh’s Naked. The film also stars Lana Condor, Randall Duk Kim, and Ray Park in supporting roles.

THE PLOT:

The sequel to the series is set in a world where computers have become sentient and beings from another dimension called “the machine” are invading Earth. The film will follow Morpheus, who has been freed after being held captive for 20 years by an android program that leads Zion’s forces into the jaws of peril.

The film takes place about a year after the events of the original trilogy, with Neo (Reeves) living an ordinary life until he meets a young woman named Hibernius “Hib” (Arjona), who shows him that the world is not as it seems. This movie serves as a prequel following Morpheus’ story during his early years about how he became The One after finding a young Neo (James) who is being chased by an army of agents.

EXPECTATIONS:

The expectations for this movie are very high, with many critics and viewers expecting the film to break box office records. The film has a big budget of $100 million which will be one of the biggest budgets for an R-rated movie as well. The revenue from THE MATRIX 4 is estimated to break even within its first week with over $250 million worldwide; so far it grossed just under half that amount.
