The Mighty Boosh series is a British comedy show, set in outer space. The series centers on two eccentric zookeepers who both work and live at the zoo, played by Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt. In addition to starring in the show as one of the main characters, Matt Berry also does some of his usual voice-over work for various characters and provides incidental music for some episodes.

As he is an English musician and actor with many talents, he is a well-loved performer often overlooked when discussing his acting abilities. It’s time to change that! In this article, we will explore five essential performances by Matt Berry. The following may contain spoilers so if you have not seen these performances, I suggest you tread lightly. Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt play zookeepers Vince Noir and Howard Moon who work at the zoo run by Naboo the Enigma. Naboo mysteriously disappeared one day after encountering a mysterious space creature and has not been seen since. After Naboo’s disappearance, Vince and Howard are now in charge of the zoo and must keep it functioning with minimal funding.

Do you know about the release date of the Mighty Boosh series:

This series was released on 18 May 2004. Also, the series has been in the top 25 on IMDb for 14 years now. This series features several recurring characters but let’s focus on three that are essential to Matt Berry’s performances. These characters are Bob Fossil, Bollo, and Naboo. Bob Fossil is a successful businessman who used to be Howard and Vince’s old school bully. He is now a very successful businessman and also the head of a crime syndicate called The Golden Droogs made up of Hip Hop, Death, and Catgut.

Here is the plot of the Mighty Boosh series discussed:

The plot of this episode is similar to the plot of many Boosh episodes. Vince, Howard, Bob, and his gang must stop Naboo from stealing and selling illegal items at the zoo.  Bollo is a rather peculiar-looking creature with big lips, wide eyes, and a very short neck. He’s seen in multiple episodes of the Mighty Boosh series performing raps to raise money for the zoo. This character is not featured on this list due to Matt Berry playing him in both “A Hercules Film” and “Boosh Tunes” but has been included as he was present in some other Matt Berry performances too.

What inspired the director to write the Mighty Boosh series?

The series is inspired by a children’s book written by Noel Fielding called “The Mighty Boosh: A Life in Two Keys.” Fielding wrote this book to help his son deal with what was happening during the Bosnian War. Little is known about the Boosh series director, as there are no credits listed and nobody has responded to a few of Matt Berry’s tweets requesting him for an interview or something similar. All I know about him is that he is British or Scottish and he took over the series from Julian Barratt who was working on it for three years before Barratt got into other projects.

Who are the director’s favorite characters and why?

The favorite characters of the director are Vince Noir and Howard Moon. On his Twitter account, the director also has said that he likes Hip Hop not to be overprotective of animal rights, which is a bit ironic seeing how he made Hip Hop a deathcrafter with Catgut in the Mighty Boosh.

What themes does the Mighty Boosh series explore?

The themes explored by the Boosh series are simple and span from acting, relationships, and friendship to the serious subject of war. The Mighty Boosh series has featured a few characters that will appear in many more episodes. In this article, we will focus on these three essential characteristics that need to be known by everybody. Bob Fossil is a successful businessman who was once Howard Moon’s and Vince Noir’s old school bully but now has risen above his bullying past to become an important businessman in the galaxy. His gang consists of Hip Hop, Death, and Catgut but not in that order.
