What is the “Evil Dead” franchise about?

Four full-length films and a television series make up Sam Raimi’s American horror film franchise, “Evil Dead”. The Necronomicon Ex-Mortis is an ancient Sumerian manuscript that causes chaos for a group of cabin occupants in a Tennessee wooded area. In 2013, Fede lvarez’s “Evil Dead”, which served as both a reboot and a loose continuation of the series, brought the franchise back to life. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Rodo Sayagues. Raimi, Campbell, and Tapert produced it. “Ash vs. Evil Dead” was a cable network Starz television series that debuted in 2015, ran for three seasons, and ended in 2018. The show’s creator, Bruce Campbell, announced that an animated resurrection would begin production in July 2022.

The movie and TV show of “The Evil Dead” franchise

  • “The Evil Dead”, 1981 – This is the first movie in the series, which was shot in 1979 and released in 1981. It introduces the Deadites, the Book of the Dead, and Ash, the series’ main character.
  • “Evil Dead II”, 1987 – This is the sequel to the first movie and picks up after the first movie’s events. The horrific consequences of Ash’s ongoing conflict with the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis and the Deadites are depicted in this entry. Additionally, it features slapstick humor, which later came to characterize the series.
  • “Army of Darkness”, 1992 – This third installment of the series, which was filmed in 1991 and made its American debut in the spring of 1993, sends Ash back in time to England in the year 1300 AD. Despite having some frightening elements, the film focuses mostly on humor and action.
  • “Evil Dead”,2013 – The movie with the working title of “Evil Dead” is both a soft reboot and a continuation of the “Evil Dead” series. In contrast to the preceding three movies, this one features a new protagonist named Mia Allen and does not heavily include the character of Ash Williams. The movie is regarded as a continuation of the series, and ideas have been floated for future episodes to include both Ash and Mia.
