According to the director David F. Sandberg, the new trailer for the highly anticipated DC’s Shazam sequel “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” will be available by the end of this month. The movie is one of the few that’s still scheduled to come out since James Gunn and Peter Safran became co-heads of DC studios last October. Fury of the Gods will bring Zachary Levi and Asher Angel back as the adult and the teenage versions of Shazam. The second part of the movie is based on the events of 2019’s Shazam. Billy will be struggling to fight crime with his foster family after he was granted superpowers and not to mention a fulfilling childhood.

What is Shazam? Fury of the Gods about?
The first trailer of Shazam! Fury of the Gods introduced us to Billy Batson’s character as a grown-up. He’s still struggling with his loss even after being granted superhuman powers. However, he gets a new family to take care of – his foster family, which includes Freddy Freeman/Captain Marvel and Darla Dudley/Mary Marvel. Fury of the Gods will follow the story of Shazam as he takes on a new villain who kills people for their wishes and blames him for it. The villain is Black Adam who wants revenge on Shazam since he killed his father and ruined his life.

Billy Batson is a young man with powers from the gods. He was granted superhuman abilities by an ancient wizard who used to be a god himself. The wizard’s name was Shazam they gave him the powers and wisdom of Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Achilles, and Odin. Shazam was well-known as the world’s greatest superhero until his good friend and hero, Captain Marvel was capable of traveling to other dimensions. The wizard of magic used his powers to send Shazam’s soul away from Earth via a hole in the planet’s dimension. The wizard gave Billy Batson new abilities that allow him to become the adult superhero Shazam for him to save the world.
What did we expect from the movie?
Just like the first movie, the sequel will be filled with humor and heartwarming scenes. The cast of Shazam also gave us a glimpse of their characters’ relationship. There were a lot of hilarious and cute moments and lines in the trailer. The young cast members Grazer, Chen, Butler, and Brody will surely steal our hearts in this upcoming sequel. We’re also excited to see that Zachary Levi is playing more maturely now than he was before.

The movie is set about one year after Shazam. It will also explore the mythological aspects of Shazam as well as the comic book character’s origin story. There will also be more characters from the comics to get involved in the movie which is a great idea to give fans more things to look forward to.
Release date of the movie
“Shazam! Fury of the Gods” will be hitting the theatres on March 17, 2023. It is one of the few DC movies scheduled to be released this year that isn’t a part of a larger cinematic universe. It was previously confirmed that Shazam! Fury of the Gods will be connected to Shazam’s sequel back in December 2018.
