The Orville Season 3 Plot, Cast, Expectations, Reviews And Ratings!

The Orville is a TV series that has been airing on the FOX network since 2017. The show was created by Seth MacFarlane, best known for producing shows such as Family Guy and American Dad. The show follows Captain Ed Mercer who commands the USS Orville spaceship which is part of an exploratory fleet in Earth’s interstellar space navy. ABOUT THE ORVILLE SEASON 3:

The show was created by Seth MacFarlane, best known for producing shows such as Family Guy and American Dad. The third season will see the crew of the Orville face a new enemy. Season two saw them dealing with Krill, but this time they’ll be facing off against an alien race called Calormenes who are led by Aku (voiced by Jason Alexander).

Release date:

No release date has been announced as of now, but we know that it will renew soon. The show in its entirety was renewed by Fox for an additional two seasons.

Filming for ORVILLE 3:

Filming for the third season began on March 27, 2019. Production will continue until around November 2021.

THE PLOT:

The Third Season of the show will be continuing where it left off in season two with a new mission that picks up right after Ed Mercer was promoted to Admiral. One thing viewers can expect is for the missions and stories to continue tackling social issues, such as racism or sexism.

“We’ve taken on aliens that want to destroy us, but this is a race that really wants to conquer us,” executive producer and showrunner David A. Goodman revealed in an interview with TVLine, “and they’re not going to back down.

“The new season will take place after the events of “Where No One Has Gone Before,” which aired on The Orville Season One finale. In that episode, Captain Ed Mercer and Commander Kelly Grayson were offered a promotion to Admiral while Dr. Claire Finn was promoted to head medical officer to replace Doctor Yelin who had become the new Krill Commander.

The first episode of The Orville Season Three will be called “New Dimensions,” and it is expected to air on September 25th at its regular time slot following The Simpsons on Fox. Viewers can expect to see a lot more than what was seen in previous seasons with episodes coming out weekly.

Season one garnered mixed reviews from critics, with a score of 64% at Metacritic based on 33 reviews. Season one of the TV series aired on FOX in September 2017 to mixed reviews with a Metacritic score of 64%. The third season has been met with overall positive feedback as well and is being praised for recapturing the premise’s original appeal.

The show’s first season was met with mixed reviews, however, the second got good to great ratings and overall better reception. Season three is currently sitting at a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes which may not be as high as what viewers are expecting but still decent for any TV show.

The show’s ratings have been steadily improving with the first season receiving a score of 0.35 on average and now it is up to an improved rating of 0.76 which may be because its audience has grown or due to other factors like marketing/promotion, etc.

Expectations:

The third season of the show is expected to go in a different direction than the previous two seasons with more drama and less comedy which some may not like considering it was one of the things that made it stand out. Viewers can expect to see a lot more than what was seen in previous seasons with episodes coming out weekly instead of every other week and also much shorter episodes.
