The Punisher is coming to Disney+. The popular Marvel series will be one of the many that will be available on the new streaming service when it launches in November. Along with The Punisher, other fan favorites like The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, and WandaVision are scheduled to be released on Disney+. This is great news for Marvel fans!
The Punisher will be the sixth series linked to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and it will be coming in November as part of the launch lineup. It is interesting to note that Netflix recently canceled The Punisher and Jessica Jones, just days before Disney announced that they were getting Marvel series.Â
Anyhow, while all of this sounds good to people who are not fans of current streaming services like Netflix, Disney is not making a lot of sense with the service they are offering.
Do you know about the release date of The Punisher:
This series will be released on 1 March 2022. Also, the series has been renewed for a second season as announced by The Punisher earlier. There is good news for all Disney+ subscribers. These are not the only Marvel series that is going to be released in the coming months on Disney+.Â
There will also be several Marvel-based movies such as Thor: Ragnarok, Black Widow, and Spider-Man: Far From Home which will be added. Thereafter, the other upcoming Marvel series to be added include The Black Widow Chronicles which will allow people to view the previous seasons of Agent Carter and The Punisher and others which have not been announced yet.

In this series, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) is a veteran Marine Corps anti-terror expert who experienced unspeakable horrors during his wartime service. While he tried to move on with his life, he soon becomes consumed by revenge against criminals who have taken the lives of people close to him.
Castle joins a team of S.H.I.E.L.D agents led by Agent Dinah Madani (Linda Cardellini), an elite US operative, and the former lover of Castle’s best friend, Billy Russo (Ben Barnes).

What are your thoughts on the new Punisher series on Netflix?
The thoughts about the series on Netflix are very different from recent series which were canceled by Netflix. I am quite excited about this and hope that all of the major Marvel series will be available to stream on Disney+.
There is a big difference between the two series. The Netflix Punisher is an official Marvel series and most of these will look great in comparison. The basic storyline is the same but it has been tweaked a lot along with some new characters who have been added, which makes it a more interesting season.
Do you think it’s appropriate to have a show about a vigilante who kills criminals?
It is hard to say what is appropriate. The Punisher is really like an anti-hero superhero and he has been portrayed in similar ways on many shows like Daredevil, Elektra, and others. That’s why I do not think it is wrong to have a show about Frank Castle as he does all of this for the betterment of his neighborhood and his family.
The Netflix series does not show how the Punisher kills criminals but it does highlight the pain that he has endured and how he deals with those things. Frank Castle spends his life looking for revenge against criminals who did terrible things to people close to him, however, it has changed him in a way that makes him a very good person at heart.
How do you think the show will compare to other Marvel series on Netflix?
I think the Netflix series is a lot similar to other Marvel series like Jessica Jones or The Defenders. It also features similar characters. I don’t think fans of the Marvel series will be disappointed with this one and there will probably be a lot of new fans looking forward to watching this and other shows from the creative team behind The Punisher.
The show turned out to be very good. Even Netflix can agree with this as they renewed this for another season before canceling it. I am waiting for its release on January 18, 2019, and it looks like a great way to start 2019 for me as I am a huge fan of The Punisher.

What are your predictions for the plot of the show – will it be similar to the comics?
The show will be completely different from the comics. However, the overall plot of the series will be similar to the comic series. The Punisher will be hunting down criminals who did terrible things to his family and close friends.
The comic storyline may have some changes but still, it follows a very similar plot and that’s why I believe that there won’t be much difference between this and other Marvel series which are already out there on Netflix. Hopefully, Disney+ will not do anything that people do not want them to do as they try and make their service stand out from Netflix.
