The plot of Sandman series revolves around Dream, an anthropomorphic personification of dreams who is captured and held prisoner for 70 years. Morpheus was a god before he was the Sandman, but he is tired of living in his realm called the Dreaming. 

He decides to leave his realm in charge of his loyal servants, and go to live on Earth where all things are possible. Morpheus runs afoul of a rogue demon named Lyta who wishes revenge for injustices done to her and her family.

The storyline of the Sandman series is very much different from the other superhero series. The storyline of the series is a lot more mature than any other superhero shows. As we all know that a lot of superhero shows are focused more on the powers, action and some comedy but this show has an exceptionally good storyline which was not found in most of the previous superhero shows.
