ABOUT THE SMURFS:
The Smurfs is a Belgian comic strip created by Pierre Culliford in 1958. It has been translated into numerous languages, including English and Japanese. The cartoon was adapted for television with Hanna Barbera’s involvement from 1981 to 1989 before it finally ended with the show “The New Adventures of The Smurfs.”
RELEASE DATE:
The Smurfs release date is on November 16th, 2022, and it will air exclusively on Nickelodeon at a time to be announced. The series was created by Vincenzo Mollica & Giampaolo Russo with animation from both Studio Lézarde in France and MAPPA studio (Madhouse) in Japan.
CHARACTERS:
Hefty Smurf, Clumsy Smurf, and Vanity Smurf are the three main characters that were introduced to the show when it premiered on Nickelodeon. Papa is seen as a father figure for all of the other smurfs while telling stories about his past life with Gargamel, which is a wizard who wants to find the smurfs and capture them for his own use.
THE PLOT:
The show follows a group of little blue creatures called Smurfs, who live in mushroom-shaped houses. The show is broken down into several different storylines that all have something to do with the main plotline. The Smurfs is a French comic book series created by Peyo. In 1959, the story began as a comic strip in Spirou magazine before it was adapted into an animated television series that aired on Saturday mornings for eight years with five seasons and 218 episodes from 1981 to 1990. The show has been airing on Nickelodeon since October 12, 2011.
Each story has its own moral lesson and sometimes relates to Papa Smurf’s past struggles with Gargamel, while other times, they’re just about a Smurf discovering something new. The show follows the adventures of seven little blue creatures that live in a village called “Smurf Village.” This includes Papa Smurf, who is the leader and most powerful among them all; his wife, Mrs. Smurfette; their four children.
