This series will be released sometime in December 2023. The streaming giant revealed the news Wednesday along with a new trailer. The Umbrella Academy Season 4 will premiere in early to mid December on Netflix. The series is based on the comics by Gerard Way and will be produced by Universal Television.
The Umbrella Academy is set in a universe where 43 women around the world give birth at noon and although none had shown the sign of pregnancy until labor began. Seven of the children are adopted by eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves & turned into a superhero team that calls “The Umbrella Academy.”
The series is inspired by Gerard Way’s comic book series “The Umbrella Academy” which was published by Dark Horse Comics. The director who wrote the script of The Umbrella Academy Season 4 is Chris Davis and he has previously worked on shows like Veronica Mars and Benders.
Way hinted at a possible future for the franchise but said nothing can be confirmed because it depends on the success of his TV show. The creator said: “I’ve had an idea that I would want to do another season, because I feel like there’s more story. But we’ll see if it gets the greenlight from Netflix or not.”
