The Witcher Blood Origin series is set to premiere on Netflix. The teaser follows Geralt of Rivia (main character) and the young Ciri, who becomes the princess of Cintra. The Witcher Netflix series takes place in a fantastical world where ordinary human beings are shorter-lived than elves or dwarves, with unimaginable powers and stranger creatures on every corner. Ciri doesn’t know her destiny that she’s about to become a witcher like her father. She will grow up to be a fierce warrior woman who has been trained how to handle herself from early childhood by Geralt of Rivia aka The Witcher aka Professional Monster Slayer. The series introduces Ciri, alongside Yennefer, Triss, and Geralt, who will serve as the main characters of the show.
This series will be released on 25 December 2022. Also, the series has been confirmed to have a total of ten episodes. The series will be available in both English and Polish language. The director of the series is Alik Sakharov who has previously directed House of Cards and Game of Thrones. The story takes place during the Year of Blue Flame which is equivalent to the 1170s in our world. However, unlike our world, no one knows what caused this blue flame but it began as a series of terrible storms that swept across the land and swallowed entire cities along with their inhabitants during its march-like nothing had ever before seen.
The plot of the series is the same as the book one titled The Witcher’s Fire and the Alliances. which Geralt is tasked with finding a child who disappeared from a convent in Chapter 1 and has been a pirate living at sea. You see Geralt has no family or anyone to be a part of his life. He has only lived for himself and spent his entire life fighting against wild beasts and monsters. It was an interesting story that will be adapted for a Netflix series.
The series is inspired by a book series by Sapkowski. The story begins when Geralt of Rivia who is a professional monster hunter and his adopted daughter Ciri becomes persecuted. As the series progresses, Geralt will be following Ciri in the name of her safety and hence falls into the hands of half creature-half human Eredin to a magical world. Getting captured, he will have to escape from Eredin’s clutches and find a way to get back to his world along with Ciri.
