The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red has confirmed that it is working on a new game. The company made the announcement on its official Twitter account, although no other details were given. The tweet simply said, “We’re working on a new game.” The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released in 2015 and was highly praised by fans and critics alike. It’s unclear what the new game will be like, but we can expect it to be just as good if not better than The Witcher 3.
This is obviously a big announcement as the Witcher franchise has been around for over a decade. Before The Witcher 3, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings was released back in 2012. The game was also praised by fans and critics alike.

Geralt has been genetically enhanced and cannot be hurt by poisons or any other typical methods of harming a human. Geralt uses magical powers given to him by his training to hunt down and kill monsters for money. There are going to be 5 seasons in total, each with 10 episodes and each taking around 2 days to complete. In total, it will take around 20 days if you binge-watch it all at once, which is what most people do nowadays.
What inspired the author to write the series, and why do people love it so much?
The author was inspired by the real-life heroes at the time who were killing a lot of monsters. There were many boogie men, who turned out to be real after all and Geralt has gone through a lot to fight them. People love it because it is a fantasy epic with a good lead character, many different enemies and no villain is pure evil. There are some more traditional villains, but they have reasons for what they do, which makes them more interesting characters.

There are no prequels and sequels in the series. It follows its own timeline. The story begins with Geralt fighting a couple of monsters by a river with his love Yennefer and she is injured while trying to fight them as well. She crawls away and she comes across a giant monster on the other side of the river that is killing everyone around him. Everyone else flees except for Geralt, who decides not to run from his battle with this beast but instead fight it head-on.
How does the author come up with such detailed and complex storylines?
The author simply writes about what he would like to see. He says that he has never intentionally tried to create anything that was too complicated or difficult to understand. He just describes the world and the characters in his head and then tries to explain it all in a way that makes sense.

Who are some of your favourite characters in the series, and why do you like them?
Geralt, of course, is a very powerful, skilled and handsome fighter. He is both troubled and intelligent, the perfect balance. Yennefer is also a very special character with her own motives, who keep characters on their toes and it makes their relationship interesting. There are many more characters in the series that make it interesting to watch; however, there are just too many to name them all here.
