The Top Gun series has been going strong for over three decades now, making it one of the longest-running film series ever. To celebrate this milestone, they’re releasing a very special collector’s edition that includes all six movies, alongside a replica F-14 Tomcat fighter plane and a photo book of Tom Cruise on set. But that’s not all! In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the organization is also releasing House of the Dragon and Delhi Crime which is both based on authentic events in Asian history. The three films are all newly remastered, with Delhi Crime especially getting some serious re-shoots and being set in Delhi, India. The film is a thriller about the gang wars in south Asia and stars some of the biggest Bollywood actors ever.
Because of the new remastering, Tom Cruise, who has been promoted to a producer role at the studio, is insisting that all three films have to be released on VOD, Blu-Ray, and DVD. The first two Top Gun movies will also come with bonus footage that was cut from the original film due to length restrictions. This footage will include outtakes and an extended version of Goose’s death scene where Maverick did not manage to catch him as he fell.
