However, unlike Venom (Eddie Brock), the Toxin symbiote had been benevolent from the start, as well as being much more powerful than its counterpart. As a result of this difference, when combined with Mulligan’s strong sense of justice and morality, Toxin becomes host to the Carnage symbiote. The “Carnage” symbiote would later bond with the Venom symbiote and reform into Toxin and then reform into Carnage if Venom was separated from him. Venom is an alien symbiote that can take over a human host. He was originally a spawn from the homeworld of the extraterrestrial Klyntar race, as were all other symbiotes. Since then, other offspring of the Venom symbiote have appeared in the Marvel Comics continuity.
Sometimes, there were two symbiotes, one for the host on Earth, and another for the host back in Klyntar. This is because Amora, Queen of the Klyntar, was passionately in love with Venom’s creator.
