They both went to Harvard but in different years. But as time passes by, both have different paths and have gone from being tight friends to not even speaking with each other for years. After a long time, when Wendell returns home, he finds out that his family pet shop is about to be phased out by a giant corporation called Wild World Pets that is expanding the big box stores into their small town.
The series is inspired by Feeney’s experience working as a customer service representative for a pet store. He was part of the team that handled customer complaints about not receiving their orders within any reasonable time and for being sold counterfeit pet food. The pet shop’s employees were also getting “trained” in how to convince pet owners that their dog or cat needs to be changed to a new and more expensive brand of food.
The favorite characters of Dan Fienberg are the two leads of the series Zachary Knighton and David Zayas. He likes the fact that Wendell is a decent guy. His best friend didn’t reach for something he only dreamed about instead he did it by himself. The only thing he had was his friends.
