This is going to be an interesting season with all new characters, and we see Hope Valley in a different light than before. Three men are vying for Elizabeth’s attention: Jameson Cooper (returning), Brady Bodenman (new), and Jonathan Mason (also new). She has her hands full when it comes to deciding who she wants to keep dating or just needs time alone. When Elisabeth learns that John Majors’ son Jonathan doesn’t know much about his father when he was growing up, she decides that they should have some one-on-ones together as well as spend time with Brady.
It’s when all of these relationships are in flux that the ladies have to step up and show their support for Elisabeth when she is not sure who she should be with or if any of them are where her heart truly lies. Given the show’s record season 8 ratings and passionate fanbase, it’s no surprise that Hallmark Channel renewed When Calls the Heart for another season. “We are proud to have When Calls the Heart as a central part of our programming; it continues to captivate audiences with its amazing cast and storylines of love, community, and optimism, and we are excited to continue the journey in Hope Valley for season nine,” Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President of Programming at Crown Media Family Networks wrote in the official announcement.
In the 15-second video announcement, Erin mentioned that the show would return in 2022 but didn’t give an exact date. At this point, it’s safe to assume that the new season will drop in February 2022, similar to past seasons.
