In the last few months, LUNA has seen a decline in sales. The company is taking action to get back up on its feet, but we don’t know if it will be successful. From what we have heard, LUNA has been trying to increase production and improve marketing campaigns; hopefully these will work out. But it doesn’t look like these are the only things LUNA needs to do in order to recover from this slump. The biggest problem LUNA has right now is that it is being out-competed by drugstore brands, like E.l.f Cosmetics and Wet ‘n’ Wild. These two companies make cheap products that are appealing to the public, including eyeshadow palettes, which are very similar to LUNA’s eye shadow palettes. There are also some products from E.l.f and Wet ‘n’ Wild that have dupes for other more expensive products from LUNA (for example, the Lippie Pencil in Prize Possession looks very similar to a dupe for the Boudoir Lip Liner).
Will LUNA Recover?
At this point, LUNA has a bad track record. The company’s financial performance has suffered under the guidance of the two co-COOs. These two co-COOs are the current CEO and CFO; they are both highly educated, have past experience in business, and have advised other companies. However, it seems that the two co-COOs are not running LUNA as successfully as they did for the other companies for which they had worked. The numbers suggest that LUNA has struggled to maintain profitability. According to its annual report, from fiscal years 2008 to 2015, LUNA’s net income has been decreasing each year. In 2014, LUNA’s net income decreased by 57% from 2013. This trend is likely to continue if things do not get better soon.
If The Company Will Be Able To Recover
The company needs to increase the sales of its products. LUNA needs to compete with drugstore brands that are selling similar products (like E.l.f and Wet ‘n’ Wild). In order to do this, LUNA needs to create new products to attract the public. For example, if the company developed a product that was more appealing than drugstore brands’ products and was also more convenient for customers (for example, it could be sold in stores or online), then LUNA will definitely improve its sales. Another possible way for LUNA to increase sales is by improving its marketing strategy. LUNA needs to improve its social media presence and create a better website. If LUNA can be successful in these investments, then it will find it easier to compete with other drugstore companies.
Is there any other way LUNA can recover?
Yes, LUNA could create seasonal products that are specially designed for different times of the year. In this way, the company will be able to attract more customers and improve brand awareness. Again, if the company does it well, it could increase its sales. The other option is to create new products that have better packaging or that are better suited for a certain season (for example, products with a Christmas theme during the holiday season).

Why do you think that season-themed products could help LUNA’s business?
Season-themed products are very popular. People like to buy something that is specially designed for a certain time of the year. For example, during the holiday season people like to buy Christmas decors, clothes and other things that are related to Christmas. Another reason why seasonal products are so appealing is because they trigger nostalgia in customers; for example, people who have been buying from LUNA for a long time will feel nostalgic and will want to purchase a product with a special theme. Although having seasonal products could help LUNA recover, the company should not depend on them either. LUNA should create new products that are appealing to the public, such as makeup palettes. This way, it will be easier for LUNA to compete with drugstore brands that are selling similar products.
