WWE is firmly on its Road to WrestleMania however, the path of its World Heavyweight Champion is still somewhat unclear. After Cody Rhodes became the first man in 23 years to win back-to-back Royal Rumble matches back in January, Seth Rollins immediately began campaigning for the American Nightmare to choose him as his opponent at WrestleMania 40. However, he instead opted to face Roman Reigns for the second straight year in the main event, looking end the Undisputed WWE Universal Champions 1,200+ day stranglehold over the company.

Last year, OddsChecker which compares the best odds and bonus bets on combat sports, made Rhodes a huge betting favourite to take the title from Reigns, a mission that he was unsuccessful in completing. But with that match set to take place for the second time, Rollins has been somewhat left in limbo. So, who will the Visionary face on April 7th at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia?

Triple Threat Match Against Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre?

Since the curveball that saw Rhodes and Rollins put on a somewhat similar-looking path, the rumour mill had been overdrive that he would defend his strap against Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn in a triple threat match. Those plans are far from set in stone though, especially if the upcoming Elimination Chamber match in Perth, Australia is anything to go by. The winner of that match is slated to go on to earn a title shot against Rollins at the Showcase of the Immortals.

But one man that won’t feature is the aforementioned Zayn. He shockingly lost his qualifying match against Randy Orton leaving his plans for the Granddaddy of Them All up in the air. The Canadian star was seen leaving the ring after that match distraught with the giant WrestleMania sign dangling behind him. However, there have been teasers that the former Honorary Uce could be on an underdog path to the gold similar to the one he was on in NXT nearly a decade ago. Could he somehow force his way back into contention over the next two months?

One man who certainly will be in the Chamber is McIntyre. He has been on a war path of late, dismantling both Jey Uso and Zayn on episodes of Raw and SmackDown, and he handsomely won his qualifying match against AJ Styles. Bobby Lashley and the immensely popular LA Knight have both already punched their ticket to Perth as well, but, it is the Scottish Warrior that remains the overwhelming favourite for victory.

Crossing Paths With the Bloodline

At the recent WrestleMania kick-off press conference in Las Vegas, Rollins crossed paths with former Shield brethren Roman Reigns and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson who seemingly joined forces with his real-life cousin in shocking fashion. When the former slapped Cody Rhodes in the face, Rollins was visibly enraged and on the following episode of Monday Night Raw, stated that he was there to provide assistance to the American Nightmare, should he need it. Does that mean a megamoney tag team match could be on the cards? Only time will tell.
