The series is set in 1883, the year before Yellowstone National Park was established. It follows a rancher who controls one of the last great cattle empires and heads west for his daughter’s wedding to an upstart young man from Philadelphia society. There has been no official news, but it is expected that the Yellowstone prequel would be on screens from the next year, 2022.
FILMING:
Filming has been confirmed for the series to start in Yellowstone National Park, with production said to begin on September 16th.
 PRODUCTION:
The production will be shot in Alberta, Canada, for six weeks this spring with director Taylor Sheridan. The movie is set to release fall next year,2022.
