The story arc of the show revolves around a catastrophic space debris event where the debris collides with Earth’s orbit and no one can live.
The series is set in the year 2122 when the human race is faced with a possible extinction as they face an immediate danger of losing their planet and its resources. The desperate need to find new habitable homes can only be answered by sending space missions to colonize other planets in search of another place to live on.Having only the spacecraft to colonize, the Ark One space mission is on a journey from Earth to colonize a new planet known as Carion. The Ark One has passengers, crewmen, and scientists alike.

The series is about the rescue mission using 12 smaller crafts (called arks) sent out to Earth’s neighboring planets with pioneers aboard to create new colonies as opposed to being on one huge ship. Like in Battlestar Galactica all the arks are left in space as the navy, or military breaks up and travels to their destinations.
