What inspired the director to write the Andor series?

The series is inspired by a real-life event that took place in a space in 2015. The story is based on real events where a group of explorers was locked inside a mine and they had to survive by themselves without being able to get out. The director wrote this story after he was inspired after watching videos on YouTube about the event and he decided that it would be better if he made the story from his perspective.

Who are the director’s favorite characters and why?

My favorite characters are Cassian Andor and Syril Karn. They are among the main characters of this series, and as the director explains he likes to show that they have a good relationship with each other.

Who are your favorite actors to work with?

My favorite actor to work with is Diego Luna. He says that he works with him every time and it’s always fun working with him.  The film crew of the Andor series was made up of a group of people who all love science-fiction themes and sci-fi movies, including some veterans in the industry.

What themes does the Andor series explore?

The themes of this series are about the future, and in it, the people have to survive any aliens that try to attack them. They are trying to rebuild life on Earth and make it a better place for everyone, as well as making sure that the aliens don’t try and take resources away from them.

What do you think about this film? Is there a link to current world issues?

The director thinks that in his series there is a theme of protecting the Earth, but they can also be seen as some things that aren’t related to current world issues. The idea of a spaceship built to transport resources and protect Earth could be linked to some current world issues.
