If you are a fan of the original Avatar series, then you may be excited to know that there is an upcoming live-action remake. There has been a lot of hype and anticipation for this movie since it was announced in 2017. So far, many people have shared their thoughts on the remake, and they seem to be pretty mixed so far. Most reviews say that the cast does not fit with what they had imagined, but some were pleasantly surprised by how good it looks overall!

ABOUT AVATAR: AIRBENDER LIVE-ACTION REMAKE:

The film is set to be released in December 2021. It’s based on the original Avatar: The Last Airbender series from Nickelodeon studios and Bryan Konietzko. “Avatar” as a live-action remake was announced in 2017 with M. Night Shyamalan directing, Michael DiMartino, and Bryan Konietzko as the producers, and a release date of 2021.

THE PLOT:

The live-action film is set to tell the story of Avatar Aang and his friends, who are thrown into turmoil after a message from Katara’s long-lost mother reveals that her entire life was a lie. Aang’s connection with Katara is put to the test as he struggles with his new role and long-buried memories.

The remake will be set in an era where people are divided into Four Nations: Water Tribes, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and Air Nomads; each nation has its own unique bending style that can manipulate one of the four elements (Waterbending for water-manipulation, Earthbending for earth-manipulation, Firebenders for fire-manipulations and Air Nomads with the ability of air manipulation).

TRAILERS:

The trailer for the live-action remake was released on May 18th, 2019, and is set to release on December 2021. The movie will be directed by James Cameron himself with filming in New Zealand. There were mixed reviews of the trailer, but many people seemed excited about it!

THE STARRING CAST:

  • The cast for the remake includes actors such as Nicola Peltz,
  • Titus Burgess, and
  • Dileep Rao
  • Aang will be played by Noah Ringer
  • The film also stars Jackson Rathbone as Sokka and Dev Patel as Prince Zuko.

Most people are not happy with the casting choices because they don’t match up to what many thought of when imagining their favorite characters in Avatar (especially because the original show is from a different culture).

EXPECTATIONS:

People are excited to see what the new Avatar live-action remake will be like, but many people have their doubts because it is a contrast to how they imagine the original show. The live-action film is set to air in 2021, and fans are excited for a news story that they can follow with the same protagonists. However, some worry about Shyamalan’s involvement as he has yet to prove himself in this genre of storytelling. Others are also worried about how well it will be received by the original show’s fans.
