The most prominent member of this clan is Ned Stark (Sean Bean), who has come up with an idea to unify all seven kingdoms under his banner – and it’s not long before he gets into trouble.

The series is based on the best-selling book A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin, who also serves as an executive producer and consultant for the show. With a name like that, what can go wrong? The first episode was well written with some great twists; it opens in Winterfell, where we see a young man being chased by the guards. The scene then cuts to a village where we find that he’s been captured for stealing food and is about to be executed.

THE STARRING CAST:

Ian McShane plays an old King of Westeros who has a gift for seeing into people’s souls and knows when they are lying to him. He hires Ned Stark (played by Sean Bean) as his new Hand.”

Ned didn’t exactly live a simple life,” says Sean Bean, who portrays the Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North in LORDS OF THE RING. “He had responsibility for an entire kingdom, with all sorts of issues that needed to be dealt with-from wars to winter snows.”

REVIEWS:

“The series is good but not great. It will be interesting to see how the story unfolds on TV in comparison with the books; as Martin has said, there are some changes he made for purposes of time and television budgets that were necessary. While it’s too early to tell if GAME OF THRONES’ success translates into LORDS OF THE RING, it’s clear that the series is worth watching.”-TV Guide.
