The Black Panther Wakanda Forever series of comics was Marvel’s way of honoring the late actor Chadwick Boseman as he prepares to step away from playing T’Challa/Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The series has been published by Marvel and is still ongoing. The Wakanda Forever series explores various aspects of Black Panther and his home country of Wakanda, including a story about a young man named Dogon who struggles to make his own path in Wakanda rather than following what is expected of him.  It also features some stories that tie into the larger Marvel Universe, such as incursions with alternate dimensions like Battleworld and others where T’Challa perished while outside Wakanda. This series made us think how great life would be if Chadwick Boseman could be in every movie we saw. The actor is set to quit the role of T’Challa/Black Panther after Avengers 4 and will be replaced by Michael B. Jordan, who has been cast as character Erik Killmonger. This series made us think about a time when Chadwick Boseman would still play the character even if it was not the Black Panther we have seen in the movies but instead some other comic book character like Luke Cage or even Doctor Strange.

The plot of the series is as follows: Black Panther and the rest of the heroes of Marvel must face a new threat, one that came from their own past. The events of Civil War II bring a lot of destruction to Wakanda and T’Challa decides that his country will step away from the world’s problems and focus on its own future.  Unfortunately for him, this peace is interrupted when Klaw returns and announces that he plans to get revenge on T’Challa by destroying everything he cares about. Along with Doctor Doom, he attacks Black Panther’s mind and forces him to kill T’Chaka again but this time in front of his own mother.

What inspired the director to write Black Panther Wakanda Forever series?

The series is inspired by Chadwick Boseman’s devotion to his role as Black Panther. Chadwick Boseman has dedicated and expanded his life to the role of Black Panther, which is evident in the amount of time he put into preparation for the film and even after the film was released.  Chadwick Boseman has been quoted saying “I’m going to be wearing this costume a lot more after my current contract with Marvel is over.” which has made us wonder if he will at all be able to wear his costume in other Marvel films, like Avengers 4. The actor also stated that every day he spends trying to prepare for this role is a gift that he will never forget.

The favorite characters of the directors are Black Panther, Storm and the Dora Milaje. The director claims that these characters are his favorites because they inspire everyone to never give up on their dreams. The director is hopeful for a series of sequels to be made after seeing how great the response was for this movie among audience and critics.

What is the storyline of the Black Panther Wakanda Forever series?

The storyline of the series is about Klaw, who comes back to Wakanda for revenge against T’Challa. He distracts T’Challa by hurting his mother and then forces him to kill her in front of his own eyes. For a moment, T’Challa loses himself and they have an intense fight. Klaw goes on to say that in order to defeat him, he will have to kill himself. Enraged and devastated by all the pain that was caused to his family because of the hands of Klaw, he kills himself and T’Challa is left alone with all the memories of things he has lost because of him.
