What inspired you to write the Death On The Nile series of books?

This series is inspired by the disappearance of the famous actor George Arliss who was introduced in this novel. He is the inspiration for Hercule Poirot. In this novel, there was a ship called the Duke of Lancaster which was blown up and killed a lot of people. At first, I was very surprised to learn that Kenneth Branagh will be starring in my book, but once I started to see his performance in my work, I realized that he liked my work so much. He is always looking for new challenges and new roles.

How do you come up with the characters and storylines for your novels?

When I am writing books and stories, I draw from my own personal experiences. My imagination and my writing have led me to some very surprising places. I have learned that in life, everything is possible. To show people how real the movie was when it was filmed in Africa instead of Europe and London. So they decided to make a sequence on board the ship with real animals instead of studio animals which were used by most of the movies created at that time.

Do you have any advice for aspiring writers out there who are looking?

My advice is to always “keep doing what you are doing.” You can get discouraged if you do not read anything and do not write. There will be times when you feel stuck and uninspired, but if you keep at it, things will improve eventually.

I have a couple of book ideas, but I have to wait until I am happy with the current story ideas before sharing them. The next work that I plan to share with readers is The Man in the Black Suit: Death On The Nile.

Are you currently working on any new projects that we can look forward to?

Yes, I am currently working on two stories. The first book that I plan to release is called The Man in the Black Suit: Death On The Nile. This fictional novel is based on the disappearance of George Arliss, who I worked with in the real world. I think that many readers will be very happy with this work.

How do you come up with the names of your characters?

I usually choose names that I like and then try to find the right places to use them. In some cases, my choice of name comes from a specific circumstance in the story. The name of Hercule Poirot’s partner, Detective Japp, came from J.A.P., a brand of cigarettes that were popular at the time when I first wrote Death on the Nile.
