After much speculation and a few teasers, Hocus Pocus 2 has finally wrapped filming. The movie stars Bette Milder, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as the Sanderson sisters who were resurrected by a group of kids. This time around, the new generation of kids must stop the sisters from taking over the world on Halloween night. No release date has been announced yet, but we can expect it to hit theatres sometime in 2022.

The original Hocus Pocus was released and told the story of a group of Salem witches resurrected by three kids who used to live in their neighbourhood. This time around, there’s a new group of kids who accidentally resurrect the Sanderson sisters. The trio must attempt to stop the witches from taking over the world on Halloween night.

How many episodes are there going to be in this series?Â
There will be 24 episodes and each episode will be 60–90 minutes long. This will be the second time one of these movies will get a sequel, but it is going to have 6 name characters in the previous and this time there will be an additional 2. There are rumours about this question as well as about Sarah Jessica Parker’s interest in appearing again in this series.
Who will be starring in it, and what other big names are attached to the project?
According to Deadline.com, actor-director Kenny Ortega will be in attendance. He will return as the director, and there are rumours that he is bringing in cast members from his original Hocus Pocus movie like Allison Lohman and Sarah Jessica Parker who appeared in the first movie with him. There will also be a new cast for this sequel, but it is unclear who exactly these actors might be.
Will it be a continuation of the original story, or will it be a reboot/prequel?
It is unclear at this point how the Sanderson sisters will be brought back to life. The last time these characters were killed, they looked like today’s teenagers, so perhaps the idea is that there will be a new group of children who do not know about the previous murders. It has been mentioned that this sequel might be set in “the present day” as opposed to “fifty years ago.”
