What Is Production Information? A Fantasy Film?
On May 7, 2013, Warner Bros. Pictures and Courtney Solomon’s SweetPee Entertainment announced a film based on the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game with Roy Lee, Alan Zeman, and Solomon in the lead. David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick wrote the screenplay. Two days later, Hasbro filed a lawsuit claiming that they were working with Universal Pictures to co-produce a Dungeons & Dragons film with Chris Morgan writing the screenplay and controlling the camera
Warner Bros. signed the film with Hasbro on August 3, 2015, after U.S. District Judge Dolly Gee settled their dispute over the film’s rights during a request from SweetPee Entertainment and subsequently allowed the Johnson-scripted McGoldrick to direct. Interviewed by Rob Letterman. Pre-production was set to begin. Confirmed for parts on 31 March 2016 and 13 May 2016. Dungeons & Dragons enthusiast Joe Manganiello claimed that he co-wrote a script for the film with John Cassel and was talking to all the appropriate parties in April 2017 to pursue the picture.
