How will “Avatar 3” answer the question of “Avatar: The Way of Water”?

Although multiple storylines are introduced in “Avatar: The Way of Water”, not all of them are addressed by the movie’s end, allowing “Avatar 3” to address any unresolved issues. James Cameron co-wrote and directed The Way of Water, which returns to Pandora to explore new characters and adventures after a 13-year absence for the widely anticipated Avatar sequel. The identity of Kiri’s biological father, a mystery that lingers throughout The Way of Water and keeps viewers wondering, is one of many unresolved storylines that “Avatar: The Way of Water” leaves open at the end. There is plenty of time to address some issues, but Avatar 3 must start up where “Avatar: The Way of Water”  left things in order to avoid dangling some unresolved issues for too long. James Cameron has promised three more Avatar movies.

Who Is the Real Father of Kiri?

Despite growing up knowing that Dr. Grace Augustine was her biological mother, Kiri was adopted by Jake and Neytiri. Who Kiri’s biological father is is a mystery. Even after Kiri and Eywa made contact, Grace remained anonymous. Due to the secrecy surrounding his identity, it’s possible that the viewer is familiar with Kiri’s biological father from the first Avatar or that he hasn’t yet been presented. The future of Avatar, given how mysterious it is, depends on finding out who Kiri’s biological father is, whoever he may be. To avoid keeping the enigma open for too long, Avatar 3 should provide an answer to the pressing question.

Excepted story of “Avatar 3”

“Avatar 3” will also continue the story of the Sully family and have Stephen Lang’s Colonel Quaritch as its primary antagonist. Cameron’s plans for “Avatar 3” are more established now that it was shot concurrently with “Avatar: The Way of Water” and that motion-capture performance for both those films was finished back in 2018. It’s also predicted that “Avatar 3” will explore new areas of Pandora and present previously unseen Na’vi clans.

How the “Avatar: The Way of Water” sets up for the “Avatar 3” story

The epilogue of “Avatar: The Way of Water” leaves a couple of storylines unfinished. Spider saved Colonel Quaritch from drowning, therefore it’s possible that the antagonist of the movie would pursue Jake in “Avatar 3” to get revenge. After the conclusion of The Way of Water, Quaritch’s rage will be at an all-time high, so things can get worse before they get better. Importantly, if Spider’s adopted family learns what he did, it may strain their relationship with him. In “Avatar 3”, it’s feasible that the RDA could arrive more equipped, which might represent an even more significant threat to Jake’s family as the battle between the Na’vi and the RDA intensifies.

Release date of “Avatar 3”

The current projection is for“Avatar 3” to hit theatres on December 20, 2024. The film’s production was delayed by COVID-19, which resulted in lengthy delays and multiple postponements of its release date. James Cameron reportedly wanted all five scripts ready before beginning production on the Avatar sequel. The delays also benefited the visual effects team since they had more time to work on the follow-up films. The first release date for “Avatar 3” was 2015; later, the date was altered to 2020. 20th Century Studios ultimately decided on the 2024
