Legendary film and TV actor Jeff Goldblum is joining the cast of the HBO Max dark comedy-thriller series Search Party for its upcoming fifth season.

Jeff Goldblum is joining the cast of HBO Max’s Search Party for season 5. The dark comedy series premiered on TBS in 2016 and was picked up by HBO Max for its third season. The series stars Alia Shawkat as Dory, who sets out to find a friend from college who has disappeared, leading Dory and her group of friends to get mixed up in a wild plot of murders and cover-ups that eventually results in Dory getting kidnapped in season 4. Each season has drawn viewers in, and it was renewed for a fifth season at HBO Max earlier this year.

Per TVLine, HBO Max has added Jeff Goldblum to the cast of Search Party season 5. Goldblum will recur in the fifth season as Tunnel Quinn, “a charismatic tech billionaire who enters a very public business partnership with Dory on the other side of her near-death experience.

What to expect from Search Party Season 5?

Though he’s most well-known for his iconic film roles, including the Jurassic Park franchise, Goldblum has quite an extensive list of television credits, such as Law and Order: Criminal Intent and Will & Grace, the latter of which earned him an Emmy nomination for his role. He has also had roles on Glee, Portlandia, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. He is also the host of the Disney+ Nat Geo documentary series, The World According to Jeff Goldblum, which premiered in 2019 and was renewed for a second season.

HBO Max also signed “Search Party” showrunners Charles Rogers and Sarah-Violet Bliss to a two-year overall deal along with renewing Search Party for a fifth season earlier this year. Season 4 wrapped up back in January and ended on quite the cliffhanger. While Dory appeared to die in a fire by her stalker, the final moments of the season finale showed that she is still alive. It will be interesting to see how Goldblum fits into this thrilling series, but his quirky humor makes him perfect for the show.
