Kusuo Saiki is a manga series about a psychic high school student who cannot feel pain and has the ability to see ghosts. It was first published as a one-shot in 2012, but it later became serialized monthly on Shonen Jump Plus from 2015 onwards. Season 3 of the anime adaptation aired in Japan between January and April 2018, with its final episode airing on April 6th.
A fourth season has been announced for release in 2019 by JUMP Festa 2019, along with an OVA episode being released on December 13th, 2018, titled “Saiki Kusuo no Saii,” which will be bundled with volume 66 of the manga.
Saiki Kusuo is a powerful psychic with telekinetic abilities. He has the ability to see ghosts, but he hates ghosts and does not want to be near them or get involved in anything related to them. Saiki’s classmates think that he may have multiple personalities because of his frequent mood swings, where one moment he would act like your typical carefree high school student, and the next moment he would be as serious as a grown-up.
The release date for the fourth season 4 of Kusuo Saiki has not been released yet, but it is expected to be on screens in 2022.
The first season of this series had a budget of ¥150 million, which is approximately $1264330.24 US dollars.
The first season has been nominated for several awards, including the Animation Kobe Awards, Seiyu Awards, and Tokyo Anime Award Festival. It won two of these awards, which were Best Female Supporting Character (for Shion Tsuchiya as Teruhashi Kokomi) and Best Music (for Atsushi Tamura as Kusuo Saiki).
The plot focuses on Kusuo Saiki, a high school boy genius with psychic abilities. He constantly gains attention from everyone appearing around him because of his powers but wants to live a normal life without it being noticed by anyone else. A high school student who possesses many supernatural abilities and is also capable of telepathy which he uses in everyday life to get through his school.
Under normal circumstances, Saiki Kusuo can easily fix this problem by using his powers to remove those memories of himself from other people’s minds. However, if there are too many witnesses present at once or something interrupts him while casting off his powers, he will not be able to control it.
Both seasons of Saiki Kusuo were well received by both fans and critics. The first season had a score of around four out of five stars, based on reviews from professionals such as MyAnimeList or IMDb. For the second season, this number was slightly higher at around four and a half stars. Ratings for Saiki Kusuo’s anime were not as high as its manga counterpart, with the first season receiving a score of only five on MyAnimeList.
The first season received only positive reviews from critics and fans alike, with praises for its plot and cast of characters. Saiki Kusuo has also received favorable critical reception for his role as Saiki in The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., with Anime News Network (ANN) praising Fukuyama’s performance when playing multiple characters, including “the psychic form Saiki” in the sequel.
Saiki Kusuo is one of the most anticipated anime to come out next year. Fans are excited for Season four, especially after the plot twist in season three’s finale episode. Many fans are anticipating the release of Saiki kusuo season four which is scheduled to premiere in January 2022.
