Loki season 2 is one of the most anticipated TV projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2023. The episodes are still being filmed and there is an ongoing debate if they will premiere on Disney instead of ABC. Expectations from the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s TV series “Loki” season 2 have been very high ever since fans found out that Tom Hiddleston would be reprising his role as this green-eyed god of mischief. The series will be based on the comic book storyline “Loki: Agent of Asgard” featuring “Loki”, who is now an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., trying to figure out what happened to his father and taking down the ultimate evil: Hela, the Goddess of Death. However, it appears that Disney might not be looking forward to releasing this series as they want it to premiere on ABC instead of their streaming service Disney+.
The series will be released in Disney+ sometime in Summer 2023 but MCU will be released in theaters on July 28th. The studio has also signed Loki’s creator, Kyle Higgins, and his co-writer/artist, Hendry Prasetya to a multi-year exclusive deal so the two cannot commit to any other project anymore. These two were behind the ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ comics and these two are likely going to try and continue this comic book story in the TV series instead of adapting the comic book storyline “Loki: Agent of Asgard” as we expected them to do in the first place.
The series is his first MCU show to receive a second season, following Evil God after finding himself in the Time Variance Authority (TVA). In the first season of “Loki,” Marvel revealed that this trickster God is searching for his father. The events of Avengers: Infinity War led fans to think that Loki was not going to find him anymore and they were right. In the second season, Loki will start working as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., who are still dealing with the aftermath of Thanos’s attack on Earth, in which half of the population turned into dust before their eyes, including Heimdall with the Tesseract in his hand, and half characters who survived used their powers for good or for evil purposes (for example, by turning Nick Fury into a child).
We can expect villains to appear in the second season of this show. We can also expect that some characters introduced in season one, such as the Valkyrie and Maximoff twins will be explored more deeply in this season. The show will focus on Hela, Thanos’s mother and the Goddess of Death, who is revealed in Avengers: Infinity War when she steals the Soul Stone from Vision after he finds it. She is portrayed as a cunning, ruthless tyrant who is intent on taking over Asgard.
The favorite characters of directors, Maurissa Tancharoen and Jeph Loeb are Hela and Thanos. They’re both villains and seeing that DC is known for doing a great job with their TV series, we can expect to see a good show.
Well, we already know that everyone is excited about the return of Tom Hiddleston as Loki. Also, casting an actor who can do both well is crucial for this show’s success because if it doesn’t work out, Marvel will be stuck with casting a new actor or actress just like they did with James Gunn after they fired him from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.
The reviewers believe that season 1 of this show is good but it is not better than The Defenders, Daredevil, or Jessica Jones. They also say that it is the best series of the MCU TV Universe but they don’t think that it can beat DC’s Titans.
Fans can’t wait to see Thanos in action and they are also looking forward to seeing this show again, especially after what happened to Loki’s father in Avengers: Infinity War. All in all, fans believe that there is a lot of potential for this show’s second season and they hope that its quality will be improved over the first one.
