The Plot:

Lucifer season six plot Season five ended on a cliffhanger when Lucifer Morningstar decided he no longer wanted to be Lord of Hell and announced his decision in front of all demons while Chloe Decker was held hostage by her half-brother Uriel (Michael Imperioli). As the episode came to an end, it was revealed that Lucifer had double-crossed Uriel, and he used his devil face to kill him, leaving us with a huge plot twist for season six.

Another plot detail is the introduction of Gabriel (also played by Imperioli), who is described as “a slick and even-keeled celestial being that is one of the most powerful angels in all of heaven.” He will be “the right-hand companion to series regular Amenadiel, who has been promoted to an archangel and finds himself dealing with a lot more celestial paperwork than he anticipated. Gabriel quickly becomes suspicious of Lucifer’s true motives for abandoning his post in Hell — leading them down a dangerous path with consequences no one could have predicted.”

As the plotline is expected to be a continuation of season five, it has been described as “fresh” and exciting by many media outlets.
