What is the “Only Murders in the Building” series about?

“Only Murders In The Building” is a comedy-drama series created by Alan Young and Kenny Trowbridge. It is inspired by “Toward the Light”, an unfinished novel written by Philip Wylie in 1959. The book was later published posthumously in 1991. However, the inspiration behind this series comes from the life of Phillip Wylie himself, who lived at One West 70th Street in New York City, where this series is set. The series follows Charles Haden Savage, Oliver Putnam, and Mabel Mora, three eccentric tenants of the Arconia condominium building who live on the Upper West Side in Manhattan. They all share an interest in true crime podcasts and mysteries, despite Mabel being a staunch believer that there are no such things as ghosts or paranormal activity.

What do we expect from the third season?

The third season of the series will consist of 12 episodes or half the original number of episodes that the series planned to release. The second season was expanded from 8 to 10 episodes because some actors who initially joined the cast dropped out after production. Tina Fey, who stars in “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”, is also an executive producer on Only Murders In The Building and she was originally supposed to appear as Cinda Canning for at least three episodes. But after she joined the second season of Kimmy Schmidt, she dropped out of Only Murders In The Building.

Production of the third season was announced in April 2018. Season 3 will see Selena Gomez reprise there role as Mabel Mora, a new character who moves into a neighboring building to Haden, Putnam, and Mrs. Mora. Steve Martin will also join the cast as building manager Charles Haden Savage’s grandfather.
