The CW has increased the cast for the upcoming seventh and final season of “Riverdale”. Major recurring parts in the Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa-created Archie Comics series have been cast for Nicholas Barasch and Karl Walcott. “Riverdale” is a joint production of Warner Bros. Television, CBS Television Studios, and Berlanti Productions. Executive producers are Greg Berlanti, Jon Goldwater, Sarah Schechter, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. After a kid was murdered in Riverdale, a gang of teens set out to discover what evils might be hiding in this otherwise good-natured community. Season 7 will start with a significant time jump after the town made it through Bailey’s comet but with a significant reset. The central figures are re-enrolled in high school.

What role will Nicholas Barasch play?

Barasch will portray the stereotypical red-headed bully from high school, Julian Blossom. He’s posh, wealthy, and very entitled. He always gets his way thanks to his good looks, athleticism, and cockiness, but when he doesn’t like Veronica he makes everyone else’s life miserable. He frequently disagrees with his identical twin sister and is a bad guy for all of our teen characters, but especially for Archie.

About Nicolas Barasch

Barasch, 24, is a performer who has been around for a while but may be more well-known to theatregoers. Barasch recently completed the first national tour of Rachel Chavkin’s Tony-winning smash musical Hadestown in which he played the title role of Orpheus. Among his other roles, Barasch was the director of the Irish Repertory Theatre’s production of Butcher Boy and the Tony-nominated She Loves Me Broadway revival. Barasch has made appearances on several television shows, including HBO’s How To Make It In America and The Backyardigans on Nickelodeon. Paradigm and Mara Entertainment represent Barasch. However, after establishing himself onstage in productions like Hadestown and She Loves Me, “Riverdale”  will be his most significant on-screen role.

What role will Karl Walcott play?

Walcott will portray Clay Walker, a young Renaissance man. He is a gifted, imaginative, intelligent, and well-traveled person. Clay is a supporter of social justice and was raised as a military spouse in a loving home. In terms of both his work and sexuality, he is quite accepting. Clay will have a significant friendship with another homosexual character Kevin Keller, just as he has in the comic books.

About Karl Walcott

Walcott has a plethora of experience in front of the camera, having appeared in numerous French programs like Demain Des Hommes et Les Béliers. While the majority of his prior experience was in the world of francophone popular culture, English-speaking viewers may be familiar with him from some of his smaller roles, such as his portrayal of an Alkali Soldier in the 2016 film X-Men: Apocalypse, which is set in the Marvel universe of the 20th Century. He most recently appeared as an Arms Tech alongside Halle Berry and Patrick Wilson in Roland Emmerich‘s disaster movie Moonfall from 2022.

What is “Riverdale” about?

“Riverdale” is inspired by the characters that thrive on page and screen, but in equal parts, the show is a noir-inspired mystery grounded in a modern teen soap opera. The Archie universe will be expanded into new storylines, as well as showcase classic story arcs. Season one introduces Riverdale residents on the precipice of a mysterious murder, followed by a shocking death which leads to another murder and more secrets between friends and enemies than they bargained for.

Release date of the series

Since there hasn’t been any word about the season being brought to a halt, it seems likely that it will consist of all 22 episodes when it premieres in 2023 on The CW. The show’s creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, already revealed that the first episode of the final season will be named “Don’t Worry Darling,” which should excite viewers even more. Season 7 of “Riverdale” is still being produced, while the premiere date has not yet been set.
