Michael B. Jordan is set to produce a Black Superman TV series on HBO Max with all the details. The project centers on Val-Zod, an incarnation of the character that has been around since 1990 but never had his own standalone story before now.
Sources say that Outlier Society has hired a writer who will work on the script, though we were unable to ascertain their identity. Though it was initially unclear whether the Val-Zod project would be a movie or limited series, sources have since reached out to clarify that as of right now, it is being written as a limited series and Jordan will serve as producer and potential star if they decide he’s right for it.

In this project, Michael B Jordan will produce and potentially star in an HBO Max limited series that explores the life of Superman and his ancestor whose family is transported to the modern-day. The story will focus on the life of Superman’s ancestor who has been sent back through time from Krypton to Earth to escape his dying planet just before its destruction. He lands at the present day where Lois Lane (who we know from Man of Steel) discovers him after she meets with Kal-El when he was only an infant. She decides not to tell anyone about her discovery until much later because no one has seen Superman’s ancestor and she believes he needs to live a normal life.
