Ms. Marvel is coming to Disney Plus! That’s right, the popular Ms. Marvel comic book series is being turned into a television series by Marvel Studios and will be one of the first shows to debut on the new streaming service. The show will follow Kamala Khan, a Pakistani American teenager who takes up the mantle of Ms. Marvel after becoming disillusioned with her life in Jersey City. Ms. Marvel has quickly become one of the most popular characters in the Marvel universe, and we can’t wait to see her story brought to life on Disney Plus.
Not only will this show be available exclusively on the streaming service, but it will also feature multiple heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel (played by Brie Larson in both ‘Captain Marvel’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’), as a mentor to Khan.

Themes in the story are also considered to be good as they tackle different issues such as racism, feminism, female empowerment and Syrian refugees, which are phenomenal things to see in a superhero movie but they will not come across so easily in mainstream movies due to the nature of the content itself.

The series is an amazing transformation of a character and it is one that we all need to see. Due to the acceptance and diversity this series will bring, people will try more and more to relate to the characters in stories whether a superhero story or not. We need more diversity in films and television so hopefully this show will go a long way in changing some stereotypes about different cultures/ethnicities.
