“It’s always a risk when you put something out there that people haven’t seen before. But I feel like the whole season is kind of about taking risks and being brave,” said Krista Vernoff, showrunner for ABC’s drama tv series “Rebel.” The show premiered in 2012 with an astounding 17 million viewers tuning in to watch Emily Thorne (played by actress Emily VanCamp) unleash her revenge plot against those who wronged her father. With each episode, fans were hooked on this new primetime soap operation.

RELEASE DATE:
The new season of the tv series REBEL is expected to release in the next year, 2022. However, no official announcement has been made.
FILMING OF REBEL SEASON 2:
“We were really lucky because we filmed in New York and London. It’s a beautiful city with so much history, but it also has this incredible contemporary edge.” Vernoff says that they had to film scenes at various locations inside the U.S., which required more travel for cast members than usual, “but people seemed energized by the adventure.”
THE STARRING CAST:
This season also sees new guest stars, including comedian Kathy Griffin and country music star Reba McEntire as well as returning cast members like Diego Boneta (as Tyler), Rosie Perez (as Julio), and Cierra Ramirez (as Emily).
Krista has no doubt that the level of talent on display in Rebel Season Two is helped by her and the show’s writers’ new approach to storytelling. “I think part of what we’re doing this season, which you’ll see more when it airs,” she says, “is a lot about how do we tell these stories without relying too much on exposition.”
THE PLOT:
The first season ended with a cliffhanger as we saw Emily finally confront Victoria Grayson (played by actress Madeleine Stowe), but not without some collateral damage. Emily was shot and presumed dead.
But at the end of last season’s finale episode, we see Emily alive and well-and pregnant with Daniel Grayson’s (played by actor Joshua Bowman) baby. The repercussions of that finale and how it will affect the show’s second season have been one of the major discussions among fans in anticipation of its premiere.
“I think it was obviously a really huge thing to discover when I read the first script,” Vernoff says about her discovery Emily would be pregnant after being shot by Victoria Grayson. “
