Resident Alien is a comedy-drama series that airs on the Syfy channel. It was created by Damian Kindler and starred Alan Tudyk, who plays an alien disguised as Harry Vanderspeigle (an old man). The plot centers around Harry’s relationship with local law enforcement in small-town America: Sheriff Isaak and Deputies Paul and Patrick. Harry had crash-landed on Earth in 1947 at Roswell, New Mexico, during a mission to apprehend a dangerous traitor who was trying to sabotage their planet’s relationship with humans.

PRODUCTION:

The second season of RESIDENT ALIEN was green-lit on December 20, 2018, and is set to be filmed in Vancouver. It will feature 13 episodes that are each 45 minutes long (including commercials).

REVENUE:

Season one of RESIDENT ALIEN had a budget of $44 million, which the studio will want to be recouped as quickly as possible. He moves to the small town of Patience, Washington, and befriends new friends, including Sheriff Walter Meyers (played by SARA), Doc “Doc” Wallace Harrelson, played by Tom O’Neill, who is an old family friend, and also Grace Neville (Annie Wersching) who runs a motel in the town. The twist is that over the course of 60 years, he has come to enjoy living amongst humans so much that he decides not to return home.

RESIDENT ALIEN SEASON TWO takes place six months after the first season when a sunspot has increased solar activity to dangerous levels and is causing problems for most of humanity. Only people with special DNA can survive in extreme heat by taking shelter underground; otherwise, they will die within minutes from the extreme heat. RESIDENT ALIEN is set in a dystopian future where the poor and people of color are left to die while rich corporations like Vodacom live underground, protected from the sun’s rays.

Expectations:

Based on the first season’s performance, it is expected that the second one will sell more tickets and receive higher viewer ratings. It should also have a better Rotten Tomatoes score due to its higher budget this year.
