What inspired you to write the Kimi Series?
The series is inspired by my own experience working in the tech industry and seeing how social media can be used for good and for bad. I wanted to explore what might happen if we took our current obsession with social media and technology to its extreme conclusion. What I liked about the Kimi Series is that it is a thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end. It is also a cautionary tale about how our obsession with social media and technology can have dangerous consequences.
I would recommend this series to anyone who likes a good thriller and wants to be entertained while also being thought-provoked.
Why did you choose to write a young adult novel series about mental health?
I wanted to write a series that would help young adults understand mental health and how it can affect their lives. I also wanted to show that there is hope for recovery. The Kimi Series is a great example of how media can be used for good. It is a cautionary tale about the dangers of social media and technology, but it also has a message of hope.

How do you ensure that your novels are accurate and respectful when portraying?
I consult with mental health professionals to ensure that my portrayal of mental illness is accurate. I also want to be respectful to those who are struggling with mental illness, so I try to avoid stereotypes and clichés. Overall, I think the Kimi Series does a good job of representing mental illness in a realistic and respectful way.
Do you have any personal connections to mental health or suicide prevention?
I do have personal connections to mental health and suicide prevention. I lost a close friend to suicide several years ago, and it had a profound impact on me. I also struggled with depression for many years, so I understand firsthand the challenges that mental illness can pose. I’m really glad that you decided to write this series because I think it has the potential to help a lot of people.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of writing the Kimi Series so far?
The most rewarding aspect of writing the Kimi Series has been the positive feedback I’ve received from readers. It’s been amazing to hear from people who have said that the series has helped them understand mental illness and/or suicide prevention better.
