We are all waiting for Riverdale Season 6, but what can we expect according to production reviews, rating expectations, release date, renewal status, and revenue?

ABOUT RIVERDALE:

Riverdale Season six is the latest installment in a series that is expected to be around in 2022. The show follows Archie Andrews and his gang of friends through their high school years as they deal with family drama, love triangles, friendships, mysteries, and so much more. Riverdale was picked up for a second season before it premiered on TV due to popular demand.

PRODUCTION:

Filming for season six begun in late Spring or early Summer of this year, with episode one being released sometime between October-November. RENEWAL STATUS:

There is no question that Riverdale will be returning next year after being extended by a fifth and sixth season which are set to air sometime between 2022-2023. The show has been one of Netflix’s most popular shows, making it one of the best to continue with.

THE PLOT:

With the release of season six, Riverdale will go through a major change in that it is lead by new showrunners. This means that there could be some changes to how things are structured and carried out. It has been said that they want this next season to be more dramatic than ever before but keeping its usual light-hearted comedy which so many fans love.

Season six will pick up where season five left us hanging with Archie’s dad being released from prison and Jughead becoming the king of the Serpents again, although it is not clear if he will wear his crown or give in to FP’s wishes that he take over as a respectable leader for the group.

THE STARRING CAST:

  • KJ Apa as Archie Andrews,
  • Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper,
  • Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge will all be returning to reprise their roles in season six, with Cole Sprouse and Marisol Nichols also set to return.
  • Cami Scorsese is expected to make an appearance this season.

RATINGS:

After a slight rise in viewership from mid-season four to late-season, Riverdale has had one of its lowest seasons as it only averaged about 0.50 million viewers per first air. Critics and fans alike have been arguing that female characters are underrepresented or not represented at all, which is a valid point. However, while Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) has been one of the main characters since day one, fans have also complained about his lackadaisical attitude and behavior throughout many episodes.

REVIEWS:

While the majority of critics and audiences have been satisfied with Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) return to sanity, it seems that everyone has gotten tired of Archie Andrews’ lackluster attitude. While the show has slowly gained some of its momenta back due to an increase in viewership, critics and fans alike have been arguing that female characters are underrepresented or not represented at all.

EXPECTATIONS:

As Season six unfolds, it seems like the show is moving forward and getting back to its roots. While fan reactions have been mixed throughout this season as a whole, there has been an increased interest in plot points involving the women of Riverdale High School, such as Josie (Ashleigh Murray)and Veronica Lodge(Camila Mendes).
